Roundtables

We all need a little help from our friends.

Imagine this…

You go to your annual conference and pick out the 12 smartest people there. You head on to a private conference room and spend two days discussing topics – those of which are critical to your organization and directly relevant to your leadership journey. Each day ends with a great dinner and candid conversation among friends you trust, and you ultimately leave the experience with clear takeaways and plans to implement what you’ve learned.

Oh, and also – you wouldn’t have to plan any of it. It just happens auto-magically.

Well, that describes Nonprofit Wizards Roundtables.

Roundtables are a unique cohort model synthesizing academic learning, hands-on implementation support, executive coaching and peer accountability.

What kind of people are members of Roundtables? Those who have an eagerness to learn, a willingness to be challenged, and a desire for continual improvement. Also, those who are interested in being a member of a close-knit community, where everyone is interested in your professional development and you are similarly dedicated to theirs.

Membership in a Roundtable lasts for 12 months and includes in-person retreats, virtual Zoom meetings, private coaching calls, exclusive group chats, and access to an expansive resource library stocked with tools, resources, draft policies, and more.

There are no prerequisites or admission requirements. Space is limited, though; candidates are admitted on a rolling, space available basis, with no more than 12 members per cohort. Additionally, we consider potential conflicts between organizations; similar organizations in similar geographies competing for employees, donors, or board members, for instance.

We deliver two types of Roundtables.

Chief Executive Roundtables

Open to anyone who leads a nonprofit organization: Chief Executive Officers, Executive Directors, General Managers, etc. In other words, the single point of delegation for the day-to-day operations of an organization governed by a board of directors.

Through Roundtable membership, you gain tools and proven strategies to:

  • Keep your board focused on strategy and governance…and out of the weeds.
  • Delegate effectively to leverage your staff resources.
  • Build a culture of teamwork across departments; break down “silos”.
  • Expand your funding model.
  • Foster accountability in your direct reports through coaching.
  • Position yourself as a leader in your community.

Deputy Director/Senior Staff Roundtables

Open to Deputy Directors and Senior Staff of nonprofit organizations. To be eligible you should have organization-wide leadership responsibilities (i.e. member of the Leadership Team), Report directly to the Chief Executive, manage people, and be in position to influence culture initiatives and policy implementation.

Through this program, you will master:

  • Aligning teams around strategic objectives.
  • Leading cross-department collaboration; “silo shattering”.
  • Building a culture of purpose.
  • Fostering accountability through coaching.
  • Delegation to maximize staff resources.
  • Extending the Chief Executive’s influence by being the “first follower”.

Additionally, you will develop a network of peer senior staff professionals around the country.
